Hi, I’m Jen. I’m a DEI consultant, recovering “Karen,” and co-founder of Becoming Better Together, a collective of incredible people who help brave organizations create diverse, equitable, and inclusive cultures of belonging so they can achieve their biggest goals.
Organizational clients like Teach For America, Samsung, The New York Times, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and Spotify have entrusted me and our collective of consultants with evaluating and examining how to build stronger, more diverse, equitable and inclusive teams.
In my 25+ years of doing this work, and a lifetime living on this planet as a white woman, I see and feel how we’re all stuck in the matrix of racism and how white people like me are gaslit into believing racism doesn’t impact us.
As a well-intentioned white leader, I know what it’s like to be afraid of doing or saying something racist and in the process causing unintentional harm by being paralyzed by fear. I’m grateful to my colleagues and friends of color who spoke truth to me in these moments. As much as I wanted to run away and cry my white-lady tears, I chose bravery to stay in conversation.Â
How to UF Myself Course comes from my professional and personal experience to help you brave the inner journey of liberating yourself as a white person from the system of racism and, in turn, creating liberation conditions within your workplace.
